Two meanings, one word

Zero-human suggests that an activity or system operates without people taking part.
In AI
A proposed or experimental company in which AI agents perform most recurring operations and day-to-day business tasks instead of human employees.
Origin & history
The phrase emerged alongside zero-person company, agent-run company, and similar labels as multi-agent systems began automating whole business functions in the mid-2020s. KPMG and the University of Amsterdam launched a zero-person company experiment in 2025 to study the technical, governance, liability, and ethical limits of the idea. ZHC is used as an abbreviation in parts of the zero-human-company community but is not a universal standard.
